Sunday, 9/21/08 4:00 p.m. Kairos: A Consort of Singers presents the fourth cantata in its 2008 Bach Cantata Series with a performance of Cantata 27, Wer weiss, wie nahe mir mein Ende?, with chamber orchestra.  The concert will also include an instrumental work by the Baroque master.  The cantata and instrumental selection will be performed as part of a choral evensong service. Holy Cross Monastery, Route 9W, West Park, New York.  Concert is free to the public; free-will offering gratefully accepted.
Sunday, 10/12/08 4:00 p.m. Concert of Max Reger songs in honor of Donal Nold and Richard Mercier's new book "The Songs of Max Reger". Little known out-of-print gems and masterpieces sung by Sarah Levine Simon, Peter Ludwig, Christine Howlett, James Ruff, Shirley Perkins and Barbara Hardgrave. The program is entitled "American Songbook: An evening of 20th Century American Art Song" with songs by Barber, Ives, Bernstein, Libby Larsen and John Musto. Tuesday, 11/18/08 8:00 p.m. Kairos: A Consort of Singers will join the SUNY-New Paltz Concert Choir and Chamber Singers in a performance of The Ecstasies Above by contemporary British composer Tarik O'Regan.  The work is scored for chamber chorus and string quartet and is based on the Edgar Allen Poe poem Israfel.  The concert will also feature Bach's motet Fürchte dich nicht and Beethoven's Elegischer Gesang, Op. 118. McKenna Theater, SUNY-New Paltz, 1 Hawk Drive, New Paltz, NY. Tickets are $8 adult, $5 faculty/staff and $3 students. For information and tickets call 845-257-3872.

Sunday, 12/7/08 3:00 p.m. Kairos: A Consort of Singers will present the rarely-performed Petite Messe Solennelle by Gioachino Rossini in its original scoring for chamber choir, 2 pianos and harmonium.  Accompanying Kairos will be Gary Palmieri, harmonium and Ruthanne Schempf and Kristin Dockery, piano. Central Valley United Methodist Church, 12 Smith Clove Road, Central Valley, NY. The concert is presented as part of the Music in Central Valley concert series. Sunday, 12/14/08 3:00 p.m. Kairos: A Consort of Singers will present its annual Lessons & Carols service at Holy Cross Monastery. The service will include seasonal sacred music from the Renaissance to the present and will be interspersed with readings from the Old and New Testaments. Come join Kairos for a truly spiritual and inspirational afternoon and start your Christmas season off right! Holy Cross Monastery, Route 9W, West Park, New York. The service is free to the public and free-will offerings will be collected for a local Hudson Valley charitable organization. A holiday reception will follow the service.
